Structure of Daily, Weekly & Monthly Charts and Files

The file structures shown here reflect the contents of the six data fields identified as open, high, low, close, volume and open interest. Most commodity files contain exactly this data in these fields. Certain fields may be replaced by other types of data as indicated in the fact sheets. One should consider the type of data stored in each of the six fields when interpreting weekly and monthly figures.

A DAILY file will hold the daily open, high, low, close, volume and open interest.

A WEEKLY file will hold Monday's open, the high and low for the week, Friday's close, and volume and open interest according to your preference set in UA's Aggregate Files screen in your portfolio settings or Aggregate Method in UA's Charting Preferences from the Preferences screen.

A MONTHLY file will hold the open from the first business day of the month, the high and low for the month and the close from the last business day of the month. Volume and open interest are presented according to your preference set in UA's Aggregate Files screen in your portfolio settings or Aggregate Method in UA's Charting Preferences from the Preferences screen. Monthly volume figures normally represent the average daily volume. The total volume for the month can be used if it is not larger than 9,999,999.

Within UA's charting module, you can select to view quarterly or yearly files through the right-click menu. These values also use the Aggregate Method settings.
