Subject: Some customers have mistakenly lost access to some foreign markets.

Several “World” (non-North American) futures exchanges have consolidated or changed their names recently, so the exchange abbreviations for many markets within Unfair Advantage have been adjusted accordingly. Below is a table of affected exchanges.

Old Exchange Symbol

New Exchange Symbol

HKFE

HKEX

IPC

ICE

LIFFE, LCE, MATIF, BELFOX

EURONEXT

NZFE

SFE

SIMEX

SGX

SOM

OMX

TIFFE

TFX

ZC

ZCE

These new exchange symbols were automatically registered in Unfair Advantage’s Market Specifications/Factsheets for the appropriate markets, so no action is required for most UA subscribers. However, if you update the World or Foreign Futures database and have disabled automatic Factsheet/Market Spec updates through UA Preferences (Distribution 2), then you will need to either download a new factsheet file from the website (and lose any changes they might have made to your market list) or change the exchange identifiers manually. Each of these alternatives is explained below.

Downloading a New Fact File

To download a new cdbfacts.adm file (factsheets), follow these steps. (Recommended)

1) Close UA.

2) Right-click on the following link.

    http://www.csidata.com/ua/setup/cdbfacts.adm

3) Choose either "Save Target As ..." or "Save Link Target As ..." and then enter: "C:\ua\archives\cdbfacts.adm" (don’t type the quotation marks) in the Filename box.  ("C:" may need to be replaced with "D:" or other appropriate drive letter depending upon your installation.)

4) Click the Save button.

5) Restart UA.

Manually Editing the Fact File

To make the changes manually, follow these steps. (Use only if you your exchange list has not been automatically updated and you do not wish to download changes as described above.)

1) Print this e-mail.

2) Launch UA.

3) Click the "Market Specs" or "Factsheet" button on the UA toolbar.

4) Choose the Market Type "Foreign Futures."

5) Click the "Exchange" column heading. This will sort the market list by exchange.

6) Scroll or step down through the market list and whenever you find a market with an exchange listed in the table above, click on the square that contains the old exchange symbol. Press the <F2> key and then type in the new exchange symbol. Press <Enter> when this is complete. You may be prompted at this point to confirm the change. Proceed until all of the exchanges have been updated.

Arranging For Future Automatic Updates

To receive automatic factsheet changes in the future, launch UA and choose the menu item "Options" or "Preferences." Choose either the tab or the outline item "Distribution 2."  Click “Automatic” under "Market Specs. Changes" or "Factsheet Changes," and then click [OK] to save your changes. This change will not retroactively update the exchange list.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Steven Davis
