From February 15, 1971 through June 30, 1987 the prices are in pounds sterling shown as 6555 (.6555) or 6555 pence per ounce. Effective on July 1, 1987 the prices are again quoted in dollars. The price produced is based on an approximation using the last known US $-to-pounds sterling exchange rate.
